WHO’S STAYING ON THE GRID THIS YEAR?
We're on the brink of starting a new season in Formula 1 and I think we are all excited to see what's next. Especially with several drivers who could outperform expectations. Truly, I don't think anyone wants a driver to lose their seat, but they do want to see more drivers in the grid. There is a plethora of drivers available to take on the challenge like Drugovich, Pourchaire, Lawson, and Schumacher to drive and perform.
Things have gotten even more interesting with Lando Norris & Charles Leclerc recently extending their contracts with McLaren & Ferrari respectively. Drivers who could easily go and drive for the likes of Red Bull & Mercedes to possibly win more races or championships in the near future. But, I think they believe in the projects of their respective teams. So what's next for the rest of the grid?
Well, there are a handful of drivers whose contracts end at the end of the season and there are several drivers whose risks are at risk. Along with that drivers like Albon, Gasly, Tsunoda, and even Ricciardo could step up at a bigger team.
I don't know who is going to lose their seat first this season but my prediction is Kevin Magnussen. Someone who I think on their day is very good and they could come alive this year still. Looking at the expectation of HAAS and how slow their car is, they might give in to pressure and try their chances on a young prospect. The same goes for any of the teams on the cusp of gaining positions in races and the standings.
